We are sun and moon, dear friend; we are sea and land. It is not our purpose to become each other; it is to recognize each other, to learn to see the other and honor him for what he is: each the other's opposite and complement.” - Hermann Hesse, Narcissus & Goldmund

WHY DO THESE SYMPTOMS AND BRILLIANCES EXIST?

The neuroscientists will tell you people with ADHD are born with a different brain.

It may be the brain, or it may be that those with ADHD seem to be born extra sensitive.

Either way, it’s challenging

This means that they’ll be sensitive to things like light, sound, touch, emotions (everyone has a different mix). This can be difficult to live with, but easily managed.

On the other hand, they’ll be extra sensitive and hyper-aware of amazing things. For example, they may be empathic and sensitive to other people, and exhibit gifts and talents in certain areas.

IN A NUTSHELL

Because they’re more sensitive than most, existence can be a trial.

Being overwhelmed by stimuli is difficult but not impossible!

Sensitivity can lead to stress

Stress can affect the brain causing it to shut down, panic or become scattered.
